Second, my point is not even about how I feel (and for the record, much like the Lars exposal this shyt does bother me), it's about what you see here on TSC and in every form of media really. These wrestlers are playing roles, and for better or for worse to a lot of people, seeing them play that role makes them not care about who they are in real life. Only when people can no longer separate the role from the person (or never cared for the role or person), will they truly take a stand.

Oh? So folks don't care about wrestlers true character? Or if they're good people? I guess all that make a wish stuff is pointless then :mjlol:

Yall like to pick and chose when a performer's character matter, as if they're never seen as role models or anything. :stopitslime:

So HHH was just playing a character during his feud with Booker T, yeah I would buy that if he didn't have full creative control over the story. He is the one who didn't drop the title to Booker after all the racism shyt because he decided that he needed to drop it to the incoming Goldberg instead. Yet, he went through with an entire racist angle and Booker never got one up on him.

When it comes to who we root for in the ring, rarely. It's funny @R=G dapped this because he hates John Cena yet nobody did more make-a-wish stuff than Cena has over his career. But even if people respect it, they don't care when Cena comes out to the ring and chant 'John Cena sucks!' in unison. Because they're booing the wrestler, not the person.

Titus has to be one of the legit nicest people in the biz for all the charity work he does, but how many people want him to have a main event title run because he's such a good guy? His personality makes it easier to root for him, sure, but it does not define how people view him as a wrestler whatsoever.

Whether you choose to accept this or not, there is great disparity to how people look at the produce of a person (whether it be music, movies or a wrestling performance) in relation to the person himself. And as I have said, and you have kindly ignored:

Only when people can no longer separate the role from the person (or never cared for the role or person), will they truly take a stand.

The bolded is literally part of the 'pick & choose' element you talk about. People were quick to unify in shytting on Lars Sullivan because they didn't care for him as a wrestler or a person, but let it be AJ Styles, one of the best wrestlers in the biz who they have been rooting for, and this thread happens.

If you don't believe me, just ask yourself how different this thread would have looked if Baron Corbin had said this on an old podcast instead.
