Some of y’all are type spectrum I swear :skip:

Just say you don’t like the man and keep it moving

Actually I'm a huge fan of LeBron the man. Way more than Jordan and even Kobe. I just appreciated their killer approach to basketball more than Bron's nice guy approach. Also their games were more aesthetically pleasing than Bron's ugly playing style.

No Bron did not have to be on no performative bullshyt in his first All-Star game I don’t care how you took that statement :mjlol:
nah fukk outta here. explain what was "performative" about kobe's demeanor? you said kobe was on some "performative psycho competitor bullshyt". every player and coach has said otherwise, so tell me what special info you got to refute the claims of people that were actually around him.

...you cant cause you know youre full of shyt and projecting

LeBron already had the respect of the vets he didn’t have to do that performative psycho competitor bullshyt in a exhibition entertainment game :mjlol:

LeBron just wanted to remember his first damn All-Star game and if you know anything about him especially when he was young in that era he was a huge fan of memorabilia, jerseys, sneakers it’s how he got cool with Rich Paul who was a seller

Killers put their stanning to side when it comes to competition. Look at Kobe whenever he played Jordan. Kobe damn near worshipped the man yet he never was asking Jordan to sign memorabilia. He tried to embrass Jordan on the court instead. So much so that Jordan was talking about how Kobe was gonna try and go at them one on one in the East locker room before the '98 all-star game (see The Last Dance).

Its this sort of mentality that killers respect. Its why Jordan grew to love Kobe more than any other player who came after him. He saw a guy who wasn't looking at him like a fan but rather an insipiration he wanted to exceed.

Lol, pathetic.

Is that why he’s essentially led in All Star voting every year since??

Lebron has led the all-star votes 8 times in his career, Jordan 9, and Kobe only 4 despite playing for the historic Laker franchise his entire career.

Like I said force fed. Jordan was voted in as a rookie before any huge hype machine created by the media. Kobe was voted in at 19 years old while being a backup on his own team before any huge hype machine.

Organic fan support comes from the people first then the media catches on. LeBron was first sold to fans by the media like no player ever before then he became popular. Totally different than Jordan and Kobe who blew up in popularity through their play and then had the media latch on.

Kobe only led it 4 time though. Same amount as Vince Carter and he was in LA. He doesn't really even really belong in the discussion regarding the all-star votes topic. MJ 9 times and Lebron 8. That's quite a gap regardless of Lebron being "hype".

You seem to be missing the drift. I'm not talking about overall all-star votes. I was talking about the initial spark. Jordan burst into the NBA and gathered an organic following before being sold to fans by the media. Same with Kobe. He was a backup when he blew up in popularity. Totally organic. LeBron on the other hand had to be sold to fans repeatedly before people bought in. Like others I was surprised in 2004 when he wasn't voted in as a rookie given the media hype. It took the media shoving him down fans throats like no player we've ever seen for his fanbase to grow.

Just look overseas in places like China where the propoganda of the US media doesn't reach. LeBron himself said in 2008 he was shocked by how much more popularity Kobe had in China than him. He was tricked into thinking he was popular with the people because of how the US media promoted him. In China he wasn't being promoted which meant his popularity had to be organic and from the people naturally. And as China proved without an agenda to push him onto fans his popularity simply pales in comparison to Kobe.

Media hype created LeBron's popularity not his game. That is the point dummy.

How so?

You and I both know Kobe and Jordan never did stan sh*t like this. To me this is a weak move. Save the autograph sh*t for when you have kids and have the kids get A.I. signature on their shoes. You don't belittle yourself like this in front of your peers.

Kobe was different though. he was confident enough to praise other players.

the ether
I’m still genuinely surprised fans didn’t vote him as a starter in his rookie year
Was behind Iverson, McGrady, and Kidd. Barely got more votes than Baron Davis.

Coaches selected Kidd, Davis, and Michael Redd (his one and only all-star appearance) for the bench over LeBron. If there had been any injuries that year Bron would have been almost certain to be the replacement, but everyone was healthy for once.
