I played basketball against the one guy Martinelli in high school...the girl was 18. Obviously he'll be fired from the job, but can he be arrested for anything major technically? How does that work out?

There's nothing wrong with getting 18 year old pu$$ but it's unacceptable as an educator to be sleeping with your own students. Even if they did graduate. I don't think these dudes should be getting charged but it's not worth the public humiliation and losing your whole career over a little pu$$.

if they were 17 that's statutory rape.
IF it happened after they graduated... especially if she was 18...that's an adult.

I think they abused a position of power at any rate and should be fired, but charges for having relations with an 18 year old? I"m not seeing the illegality in that...unless there are specific laws in the state for abusing the previously mentioned position of power...

Hes bein charged with "official misconduct" where as the other guys (who slept with 17 year olds during the school year) have more serious charges. Apparently, in NJ it cant be considered rape for a consenting person over 16.

Apparently the guy im talking about only "kiss" and "touched" the girl before she graduated (not sure if that was before and after she was 18), and then had sex with her after she graduated, unless any other evidence comes out

I caught my coach coming out from the game/trophy with a female student back in EO. I knew something was up cuz when i got caught by him without a hall pass he would write me up for detention or in school suspension, but the look of shook on his face said enough and he let me and my boys go.

we knew what it was and when she got pregnant, we knew who the father was.

A lot of states have the law on the books that teachers can't be boning their students but not all of them make a distinction in age.
Like the case in Kentucky where the Bengals cheerleader had sex with her 17 year old student, she was clear on statutory rape charges because the age of consent in Kentucky is 16 but its against the law there for teachers to have sex with any student under the age of 18.
