What I find even more sad and pathetic is that in those polls about who people think was the greatest american president........folks always be putting Jefferson,Washington, etc on the list.
They were legends for OTHER THINGS they did and in some cases before they became president. So why in the hell do people hype them in the first place as presidents. I mean really Louisiana Purchase makes you one of the greatest presidents? Personally I think only presidents Teddy Roosevelt and onwards should be on any list like that. Anyone before I cannot take seriously(yes even lincoln) especially the "big three" of Washington, Adams, and Jefferson.
When if you actually think about it, did either of them do any landmark things that are helping us today? Or helped people back then besides the common white man?
The funny thing is that Obama has the chance at the end of his term to have passed landmark bills and executive orders, etc and people will laugh if you say he should be on a list of top 10 . But keep a straight face when saying Jefferson was a superb president for the common man when he had slaves while he was running a country.
