So simple yet complex. This is one of the instances that helped me understand the older artists being pissed at us for sampling.

Shyt was blatant and PE always been near and dear to my heart. I was pissed in real time.

This beat will never be played out to me; that shyt is timeless :ohlawd:

how did you not know that was a complete rip off of Public Enemy's track? hahaha. I mentioned it in another thread about songs that ripped off hip hop songs. Her producers stole from Main Source too.

oh i know the whole story with Justify My Love song and it's sampling of Public Enemy and how Lenny Kravitz didn't give Ingrid Chavez credit for writing the lyrics. the whole lawsuit and everything.

looks like you skipped right over my post in here where i talked about it. lmao

now with that said, it's Madonna's version i posted because although her's samples Public Enemy's song, i like the added melody to her song

Beat was always dope!

I remember Rakim freestyled over it live on Video Music Box. Golden era sh*t.

But Lenny Kravitz ran off with the loop that The Bomb Squad used first for PE, but they all lifted it from the Jackie Robinson break. Dudes would argue over looping breaks and totally forget that they're all using sh*t from older artists from back in the day, lol.
