I would say both of them can be credited. Dame did believe in him first but i dont think either saw him as an mc. Honestly i believe Ye would have become Ye without either one of them musically. Its to my understanding that Jay and his team are the one that set Ye up business wise back in the late 2000s with his business connects. Jay definitely jacked Ye from Dame but Ye and Dame together would have prolly got Ye blackballed as well.
