I got a Gear VR last September but I had an S5 Edge and that shyt would overheat after 15 min. I got the S8+ in April and I finally got a chance to really use the Gear VR...shyt is dope. Watching live sports is really dope. I was checking out the Braves game in VR last night... i was kinda amazed with the camera view from the dugout. Seeing the players just chillin' in the dugout gives you a new type of interaction. I'm a Nats fan and I was still like "Oh shyt...that's Matt Kemp right in front of me!"
Haven't tried too many of the higher end games but there are some pretty good free apps. I really wanna get an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive but I gotta wait till they drop that price. Heard Farpoint is good but I can't justify paying $400 for a PS4 peripheral...I'm good with playing Rocket League. LOL!

I tried everything with the S5...airplane mode, no wifi and it still overheated. This S8 runs smoothe as he'll, though.

Bought Samsung Gear VR Note 8 Edition. Cost $129. I have a massive headache. I wore it too long without breaks the first time around. I watched a little bit of Split since I haven’t finished it. Watched two VR pornhub clips to see how realistic it was and it was actually impressive but the clips I watched were low resolution and the guy was White which made looking down at my vr body look awkward. Turned that shyt off since I was annoyed. Played some free games, most sucked except for this PvP multiplayer shooter called Laser Arena Online. I placed 2nd or 3rd most of the time on average out of 8 people which is good for my first time. Even tied up for first once. If I can’t find higher resolution experiences for free I’m returning it. I mainly bought it to experience a 3D Google Earth type app since I love to explore. Ain’t found a good one yet. I want Streetview. Phone never overheated. Battery dropped about 30% after I was done. Was probably on it for two hours. Not bad. Need a better movie viewing app. I wanna be able to watch movies while laying down and facing up. I can only manage as going as high as a 45 degree angle with Samsung Phoneview Theater. Just downloaded Skybox which is supposedly better for viewing videos. Should be better. Viso Places might be the type of Google Earth app I was looking for. Will try it when I'm feeling better. VISO Places
