This reminds me of the early/mid 90s New Generation era when plenty of wrestlers got arena lights and pyro....
Nash's entrance as Diesel used to have a smoke/steam effect, and a CRAZY 4-ring-posts pyro set in the ring after his entrance
Razor had his darkened gold-lit arena and in-ring pyro
Bret and Owen both got a darkened arena with pink lighting and heart-shaped light beams moving around in the ring
HBK had his darkened arena, pyro and in-ring moving lights
Of course Taker and Goldust always had their entrance atmosphere for their gimmicks.....Goldust used to have glitter in the air and everything
Even Jeff Jarrett got a darkened blue-light arena so his silly hat and glasses could be seen lighting up, and he got in-ring moving 'music notes' lights too
X-Pac also got ring lights as the 1-2-3 Kid
Vince spared no expense for entrances back then and was more colorful and bold with them....as long as you were a somewhat-noteworthy wrestler in the WWF, you was getting a dope entrance

I hope you mean from a match quality standpoint because otherwise fans definitely wanted to see that match. That's part of what really made the fingerpoke shyt so terrible
That was like if Orton had faced Triple H for the WHC months after he left Evolution....only for Triple H to fingerpoke him and get the belt, and to reunite Evolution with Orton in it. Imagine if that stupid shyt happened with the title on the line
Triple H and HBK did some similar bullshyt with the Eurpoean title on the line in their DX days.....but that was the European title
