She's a California Democrat, she was further left than most of the democrat party.

That is not how that works. She wasn’t left in California. She was literally elected as the conservative DA and AG choice in California. Her republican opponent in the AG race wanted to legalize weed and she laughed at the thought when asked about it which was a heavily supported left wing policy. She is a centrist and a political opportunist which is why she came off as inauthentic.

This country is right wing at its core, far left politics don't work outside of liberal coastal cities. Kamala might not be on the left to you, but to those rust belt Joe Manchin type democrats in the states she needed, she was too far left.

That’s not true, Bernie was huge in the rust belt. In Louisiana they still sing the praises of Huey Long and his policies. FDR is hated by conservatives but he is still beloved by people in the rust belt and would still support his policies. Kamala did not run on an economic platform she ran an abortion/trump is bad platform and it cost her. This was an economy election and she bungled that and the response to Gaza.

About progressive electoral victories, that's not true. The main progressive candidates won their reelection, didn't they? Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, AOC, Bernie Sanders, etc all won.

The policies they support poll well across the board too if I'm not mistaken.
Why were they absent from the agenda?

It doesn't all fall on her; many progressive issues should have been an integral part of the Democratic platform in my opinion and whatever agenda she proposed should have had years of groundwork on which to rely.

But it seems to me the Democratic party has no real direction besides a profound love for neoliberalism and imperialism. They don't offer anything else than a status quo folks are sick of. So they find themselves in a situation where they see no other choice but to concede on many issues like immigration for example.

If you look at other western countries, the record is clear; that never works. The far-right always comes out on top. The French left figured that out.

To be honest, none of this matters anymore. The Supreme Court will be conservative for generations, so they can strike down anything progressive or non racist.
