I was a lower level archivist . Didn't know that youtube would be created, which lowered the value of the rare stuff I recorded.
When I was a kid it used to be a big deal when rappers were on tv, people used to call each other up "yo RUNDMC is gonna be on channel 4" I have tons of hip hop related interviews, video music box episodes, "Like It Is" episodes, Black tv shows that didn't make it to season 2,etc.

I had HOURS of hip-hop videos, interviews, live performances from the 90s and early 2000s that I lost over the years. Some recently. I still got tons of vhs tapes in storage, mostly shyt my dad recorded. Old NBA games, the OJ trial, documentaries, etc. Only a fraction of the shyt I used to watch off vhs on a reg is on youtube. Duck Down Records just released like a 2 minute clip of a 1996 Heltah Skeltah interview that I used to watch all the time from Rap City, but I had the entire episode.

I got Organized Konfusion live performances, Sunz of Man, groups that are only known on a strictly underground basis had bookings on late night talk shows like Vibe and Keenan Ivory Wayans's show.

Hold on to that regardless. My daughter went down the rabbit hole of lost media, and she schooled me on shyt that you would think would still be around but for some reason they weren't preserved. I'm talking cartoons and shows from the 90s even early 00s.

Good to know I am not the only strange person lol, I love watching old footage of my city/neighborhood basically places where I grew up or recognize from the 50's,60's,70s,80s etc.

Same all though I can barely find any old pics of my neighborhood.

Speaking of which, I’ve discovered a couple of news recordings during 9/11. They contain a good amount of ads and programs a couple of hours to several minutes before the attacks. Literally depicting a more carefree life in America before shyt hit the fan and changed our way of life forever. It’s very surreal and kinda spooky watching them.
