Celebrity worship is one of the most insidious aspects of US culture (see also Kelly, Robert). Once someone makes a few songs they like, stars in a few movies they like, puts a ball through a hoop in a way they like, etc. some people will defend them against the indefensible, or at the least offer up "reasons" for their behavior other than that they're simply toxic people.- White lives matter

Understandable, in truth, most engaging with the topic of drugs are doing so in bad faith, but if there are people who are truly unaware of the situation, I suppose it sets them up to properly deal with it.
