If he had gone to WCW, I'm not sure he would come back after the buyout. I've heard numerous shoots from wrestlers who knew Owen that said he was looking to retire in the next few years and become (I believe) a teacher. Owen 98-99 was just riding it out in the end there.

I always love hearing Owen stories. My favorite rib stories was the one he and Bulldog pulled on Lex Luger with the police officer...all while Vince watched the fukkery from a limo. I wonder if Curt and him ever tried to out rib each other.

I loved Owen but they seem to have relegated him to perpetual mid card status cuz of Bret. Dude was tagging with Jeff Jarrett I mean that's pretty much a burial.

Also would be curious if they gave Owen the game gimmick instead of HHH. Would have liked him to play a non whiny face

Him and pillman honestly would have adjusted to the era better than bret did.

Pillman would have been so great if he didn't get injured. Everything Austin and him did in their program to usher in more edgy TV.. And I believe if Austin never went to WWF and they still wanted to do a fukk the Boss storyline with Vince, Pillman would be the only one that could pull it off.

Owen was great too, and they never really gave him a fair shake, they only wanted to push one Hart, and when Bret left, he had a good anti-authority gimmick as "Black Hart" for awhile, before he fukked by Russo and had to hang with Jarrett and be Blue Blazer again eventually.

He was nicest. Definitely top 3 at the time for sure. When 2000 rolled around I don't think they even mentioned him once on commentary.
