They got him out here whining like a old white Lady (Karen) and still got his stupid outfit and hat on looking like a goofy and doesn't even comes off as a heel.

Plus where is Rock? Are they just going to look and talk to each other for 4 weeks and walk away

Must have read my mind because I was going to make this thread. The turn was great, and they should have used it to give Cena a different presentation than the last 20 years and have him unload on the fans and Cody Rhodes

Instead, the presentation is still the same (jorts, t-shirt, hat), and promos since then have been underwhelming IMO. He took a page from Jericho/Miz promo book from the late 00's and added in being a battered wife. Plus they've made him look like a chump whenever he's crossed paths with Cody Rhodes.

Also if Double Talk Ducktale Dave is to be believed, "something" is going on with The Rock, which is why he hasn't been mentioned.

I think The Rock’s involvement actually takes away from it.

If you’ve ever had a bad/long breakup you should be able to relate to Cena. He’s fed up. He’s tired of doing the dishes every night for years. He looks at the crowd how you look at your ex: disgusted, tired, with contempt.

I liked how he said “I’m not a heel or a baby face, I’m a human” he’s tired of the bullshyt. He doesn’t need to “change” anything about himself (clothes, music) he feels he’s the same person just over the relationship.

I peeped the CeGOAT promo and quite frankly its a Hail Mary play to take the attention off of Trips shytty booking. While the execution was there, the grim reality is that it feels so damn forced. The turn was DOA from the upstart:

• Travis Scott doing voodoo rituals, destroying the aura of the turn
• Cody being all in the videos with CeGOAT explaining himself
• The feeling of death within Cena trying to go with the turn (knowing he's not feeling it at all)
• The diva whining and bytching (like MAKE IT MAKE SENSE...make me believe you want to be heel instead of going off a obvious script to shake up the IWC)
• Nobody is falling for the turn as it's too little too late

Bottom line, its not moving brehs at all. It's just a cheap pop to get what's left of the OGs to finally get their Cena turn, while the rest of the world moved on.

Like the Hoegan turn was magical because of the era for the time. It was a huge damn deal for Hoegan to go mask off in a time when the product was going the ECW gritty side.

If anything, a Cody turn would have been what the streets needed and it would have been magical, if he turned on CeGOAT at the grandest stage of them all to become Homelander.

But here we are with this meh run because Trips booking himself into a NXT bland corner.

The gear is a killer.. I get that they don't want to lose on the merch money in each city he visits. And the "you dress like me" bar was actually heat, but the reality is it looks dumb as fukk to have him out there looking exactly the same, same music, but being this angsty bad guy. It just takes away from the whole presentation.

Feels like he's still checked out on wrestling as a whole imo. He pulls up (when he does), gets his shyt off, and then dips before the show is over.


This shyt was 20 years in the making. We should have seen more from the people that came up with and have a long history of Cena: Michael Cole, Truth, Jey Uso, Orton, Punk, etc. even if it's just a backstage promo or talk
