You are right in that Austin and Rock don't need the paychecks. Heck, Austin's celebrity has found a new life a bit with this Straight Up Steve Austin show. It kind of showed how relevant he still is and how he can still make lots of $ from the Stone Cold persona away from the ring.

But Austin, bad neck and all, has always stated he can go one more round if he ever desired. He simply doesn't want to, nor has WWE ever presented him an attractive enough match for him to lace up the boots again. CM Punk was honestly prob the best shot for him to return and even then he declined.

Vince is basically a money mark now. Fury isn't even top 5 boxer in terms of popularity

They are cool with Arum. Also Fury is 6’9, that probably helps too. Theoretically he should be made for this promo wise but he’s seemed subdued so far, if people know his real life history he’s usually a lot more hyped than he’s been so far. He’s probably on a script, could have been ill if was hyped and aggressive and more bulletpoints rather than a full script. He could of gone all out and really made some waves but it’s been tame so far. Not sure how the match is gonna be, can anybody imagine him taking moves? Can’t imagine getting a real match but willing to be suprised. Him vs Brock would garner interest if it ever happened.
