If you were to close your eyes and just listen to the first sound the singer makes and you were of a decent age in the 90s you'll instantly know what it is.

It is perfection. Not a single spoken word of dialog other than some random sounds. When the drum kicks in at the end of the iconic sequence and it shows the title that seals it. No credits or anything mucking it up either.

Yeah I know it's a kids movie but it's still the Bret Hart of openings.

When you think about the fact that there are people who exist that want to make great content for children, it's an incredible thing. I mean obviously they make money doing it, but when you look at a movie like Lion King, you can tell it wasn't a money grab. They really cared and really wanted to make something that resonated with us and that would be memorable and hopefully something that we could even take some gems from and learn something from. This movie defined our generation back then.
