Although i heard pizza was invented in america by italian immigrants in america, so they probably just copied nyc and then put their own local twist on it to catch tourists.

Food in Lehigh Valley (a lot of good Dominican spots in Allentown and overall the Philly and New York influence) and around scranton (best bar food ever, and tons of old school Italian spots with great food)... Outside of the eastern spots and pittsburgh, the state is pretty rural, and the food in these spots outside of German/Pennsylvanian dutch influenced places.. Yeah, its not good
