The Wire will ALWAYS be the GOAT to me, the writing and atmosphere of that series can't be duplicated even by a great fantasy epic.

Plus the acting is better than GoT easily :manny:

Mad Men is creepin on a come up though. That show is too well done :smh:

Did you seriously just say the acting on the wire is better than GOT? I LOVE the wire, seen every season more than 5 times but the acting was not one of its strengths

GOT is the GOAT right now but its to early to tell imo...the Wire is still super dope...and i STILL love Boardwalk Empire

but the real thing is

2/3 out of the GOAT shows are from HBO....now are we to say that HBO is the GOAT channel?

:stopitslime:

Wire was all-around greatness. Acting was very strong there yeah it wasn't perfect because alot off them were pulled of the street but it was convincing and they played their roles perfectly. I've never heard this opinion from anybody except Ziggy haters.

Anyway GoT has been great so far but it's in the same boat as early seasons of Lost, I really don't place it highly as others here but that's just me personally. Like Lost a lot of its hype is "what's to come."The story does an amazing job of building anticipation and like last episode it delivers when it's time for a big event. But there's other shows on TV like Justified, Southland, Boardwalk Empire that do that on a lower level and are just as good.

I'm not quite ready to place it with the Gods of the game like Wire, Sopranos, Battlestar Gallactica, Breaking Bad just yet.

The Republik of Mancunia
rate game of thrones, geeked it out and read three of the books before it came out anyway...

but g.o.a.t is gonna be The Wire for me, even breaking bad and soprano cant fukk with what The Wire pulled off.

First season on breaking bad was short cos of writers strike, 1st soprano's is ill, but 2nd is kinda spoilt with actress that played Ma dukes passing so quick...

The Wire killed it by switching up after (sucessful) Barksdale story and taking it to the docks where it starts to piece the city together, was too good for tv fam.

The Wire remains untouched to me as well. The only series so realistic but kept me engrossed.

Can't say GOAT yet. Too early. I need to see the fate of these characters. And the dragons, they haven't done ish yet.

Chappelle's Show is top 5 though in just 2 seasons. :yeshrug:

Nah, OZ was a GREAT show...but it fell off something serious those last two seasons. :scusthov:
Obviously I am talkin about when it was at its best Season 1- 4 (first half mainly) was some if not the best tense moments of television ever.GOT already backslid somewhat in just season 2 and it has the luxury of being an adaptation. If there is a season 4-5 who knows mayne, ppl were hyping the last episode to high hell then once it aired i'm like "woah that was it? guess u have to have a hardon for tyrion or something, cuz that wasnt really epic" The truth is GoT excels best with its dialogue , debauchery, double dealing, executions e.t.c Small battles are cool in doses but they should stay away from full scale stuff like blackwater
