Any community seeing one another a bunch of "nikkas" is bound to have problems
Yep cuz even if you not on that type of time then how do you know who is and who isn't on that type of time?
Case in point because I've seen this happen to someone I know:
You own a black owned business and you interview a bunch of applicants for a position and you meet young black person and decide to give them a job and help them out. They then show up late, don't work hard and do their job and then demand money and advances and try to strong arm the employer by not doing their job until they get it and accuse the employer of cheating them out of wages when they are not. Lie and say they did not agree to work the amount of hours they've been scheduled. Your new business then gets reported for not fulfilling services and ruins your reputation and ruins the business and your money flow. Now he's unemployed and can't pay rent as well. A lose-loss scenario.
Would a strong sense of community unity prevent things like this from happening? To me in the case of the employee, he was selfish and only looking out for himself and trying to finesse because he had no trust for his own people and not worried about doing right by a black owned business. In the case of the employer they could chalk it up as a loss and continue to try to seek black people to give a job to but can you blame them if they will no longer be apt to try and look and give a nod to hire black employees and give them a chance after that and start only looking out for themselves as well? Then now more potentially employable black people who need a chance remain unemployed.
There I think lies the conundrum. When a community of people isn't on the same page morally and principally then you play Russian roulette with who you're dealing with it pays to play selfishly because the giver who receives no reciprocation always loses.
But this all smoke and mirrors that selfishness is more rewarding. In game theory it has been shown that both parties acting cooperatively leads to the greatest outcomes the majority of time. So yeah viewing each other as a bunch of nikkas if it leads to selfish behavior from each person we all collectively lose.
