I generally think it's a good thing that people today are becoming more socially and culturally sensitive.

However...some people do take this shyt too far. People will rant on twitter and try to 'cancel' you over literally any damn thing. Sometimes, I get the impression kids today just want to look good in front others instead of genuinely wanting to do good. They want to pat themselves on the back over what good people they are instead of actually being good people.

The latter is the exact reason. We're just so fukking stupid as a species to realize that simple fact :mjlol:

Nah.... people are more easily offended now...... not a whole lot to do with social media at all...... which just represents a few echo chambers and a lot of group think........Eddie Murphy’s RAW tour would be boycotted in 2019...... in the 80s, it was the highest grossing comedic tour of all time until Kevin Hart came through and crushed the buildings

If Blazing Saddles came out right now it would be protested from every group and that movie is a comedy classic

My main problem with this sensitive culture of today is when people try to get a show cancelled or have a music artist cancelled or muted because they don't like the person. Okay that's fine you dont have to like that musician or TV show but don't try to stop others from enjoying it. If someone wants to listen to a rapper talking about smacking bytches around that person has the right to listen to that song and that rapper has the freedom of speech to rap about smacking bytches just as long as he isnt really doing it in real life. The only things that should never be tolerated are racism, rape. murder(real murder not just a rapper saying things in a song) and pedophilia

Are we more sensitive, or are we just more connected, and have access to everyone's thoughts via social media and comment sections?

both.

majority of the population are sheep and wave riders so in turn makes people who maybe once were not sensitive to such subjects now sensitive to it because they see how others have felt about it

I legitimately don't know why people think Blazing Saddles couldn't get released today when it clearly makes fun of racists.

FFS Django was basically a more dramatic Blazing Saddles content-wise and hardly anyone who actually saw it cared, and if they did then they mostly had legitimate concerns.
