so you think it's easy to go against your natural instinct and literally go through shutting all systems down? First of all, do you know how strong the will to survive is? It is the TOP PRIORITY for ALL organisms. Then, to willingly go against that into a realm of unknown is pretty brave, not to mention the method you use and how much pain you may experience.

Yes, suicide is selfish. Everyone is selfish. The people crying and calling their friend or family member that killed themselves selfish, are selfish. They wanted you to live because it made THEM feel better knowing you were there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but they are not you and do not bear or most likely can't even comprehend the pain that the person who committed suicide had to live through that was so debilitating that the only outcome they could see in the state of depression was ending it all. No empathy from people calling them "selfish", because you're really just showing your own distance from their pain and showing your own selfishness.

even in some cultures once you are unable to contribute to the unit and you become "useless" or drain more resources than you bring in, you are EXPECTED to come to this realization and kill yourself as a sort of "rite". It is viewed as honorable if you're straining the unit of resources instead of advancing it.

and if that isn't enough for you to think suicide is "cowardly", then look up "seppuku"
