Did you really listen to Rakim? Your argument isn't making any sense
Paid in Full:
"I need money, I
used to be a stick-up kid
So I think of all the
devious things I did
I used to roll up, this is a hold up, ain't nuthin funny
Stop smiling, be still, don't nuthin move but the money
But now I learned to earn 'cause I'm righteous
I feel great! so maybe I might just
Search for a 9 to 5, if I strive
Then maybe I'll stay alive
So I walk up the street whistlin this
Feelin out of place 'cause, man, do I miss
A pen and a paper, a stereo, a tape of
He is letting you know he wasn't proud of doing stick ups, not praising it.
With the Terrorists line he was using metaphor to say he was killing competition, not literally killing kids. We called older people kids, too. How you know old songs, but not understand what you were listening to? This is hip hop, shyt has different meanings for us
How I Get Down:
" I like to hang where everything seem to happen at (ya know?)
It's Ra's habitat, I'm like that czar Arafat
And yes I have a gat,
snap like a Israeli
A terrorist I never miss blowing up kids daily"
And Rakim was God Body, they could smoke, & drink alcohol, so what is your point? Drinking, and smoking herb, doesn't mean you aren't righteous, you just have habits that aren't associated with what we call righteous, but that is our issue, not the facts in itself. If he was a drunk, then you have a point, but just saying he isn't righteous because he promoted beer and liquor is crazy.
