I think you're maybe being a bit harsh and missing the greater point of what season 4 was trying to convey. That the drug war/streets/justice system are merciless and won't even spare children from their destruction.
At the end of the day, these were still KIDS. Randy may have been a snitch but he was a snitch out of ignorance and fear, brought upon by the naivety of being a kid. This is somebody who legit believed Chris and Snoop were turning people into literal zombies

He had no family (deadbeat Cheese notwithstanding) and had been bounced around in foster homes all his life. That's a traumatic experience for a child to have to experience and it shaped his thinking going forward. He had no idea just standing outside of a bathroom could lead to him being expelled. And his fear of being abandoned yet again made him panic. He wasn't some deviant catching bodies left and right and then pointing the finger on some
shyt like Sergei once he got jammed up.
