that shyt should be a fukkin oxymoronit's the wealthiest black county in America and ironically also a pretty violent place.
damn i might be moving to dc too to work at georgetown. I took a quick look at some apartments in the city and they were like 2000 for a studio. I found one that was 800 a month and the reviews said it was filled with rats/roaches and mad robberies
-VA/MD prob cheaper but that traffic is prob ridiculous. I cant imagine wasting 2 hours in traffic everyday; will all the hours i'll be working![]()
i live on 1st ave, 3 blocks from thayerThayer Ave the foundation, downtown Silver Spring stepped it the fukk up and they even added mixed income apartments for the working class residents.
That's my hometown...![]()
About Maryland, Prince George County is okay. It costs less to live there than in Montgomery County because, well, it's a bit more ghetto. It used to have a high auto theft crime rate. I don't know if it is still like that. More about Montgomery County Maryland, downtown Silver Spring isn't really safe. I would say Wheaton and all points north and north west is better.
you aint gonna find shyt in DC for $800 a month

You can on the mighty southside, I found a spot off South Cap for 750 all utilities. That is if you don't mind all that hood shyt around you.
lmao, kill you right in the neighborhood. You prolly walked by @Brief Keef a million times and ain't even know it.![]()

you are much more likely to get got in Wheaton than in downtown Silver Spring at this point. 10 years ago it was about even but SS is much safer since money started flowing in
which of the 25 barbershops does he hang out in down there?
I lived in DC for med school at Howard until 2009...You can certainly live fine on a dentist salary or even less...I lived in downtown Silver Spring at The Blairs for a couple years, then at The Crescent condos for my last 2 years, my rent between the 2 places averaged probably about $1250 (although I'm sure it's inflated now) and this is on fed government loans. Based on what you're saying, i think Silver Spring, or even Bethesda is your best bet of where to live. Easy access with your car to DC, access to metro, traffic isn't that bad, and nice shopping/restaurants in the downtown area. And don't listen to these fools saying Silver Spring is not safe, it is very diverse and very safe IMO - I never had any worries or fears about walking around by myself at any time of day or that someone would jack my whip...I loved living in the DMV with great friends, different cultures, accessible other cities, good night life, and women...but yea the whole black elite and the club scene did start to get aggravating when you see the same people at all the same events, still fronting like they're balling when most people are just trying to keep up with the joneses. I feel like most of the mid 20's to early 30's crowd was most guilty of this, and alot of the women you can game, but they are STUCK UP...All that said, THANK GOD I took a job back in Texas for residency and the same since finishing residency. No state income tax on 200k a year (although that fed gov is a bytch), so imagine how I'm living here...I don't ever think I'll live on the East Coast again strictly b/c of the cost of living, but I definitely enjoyed my time there
lmao at the richest black area still being violent![]()
