You should care. Water normally gets treated before it’s distributed to households. It doesn’t go straight from the river to your house lol

The degree and type of treatment depends on the water source. Water from Lake Tahoe, like water from the Quabbin Reservoir in Massachusetts and Sebago Lake in Maine are exceptionally clean water sources that require minimal treatment. NYC water as well is very minimally tampered with. As a coffee tech, i had to know water chemistry from locals all over the country, which is why I’m talking.

Apparently this is why NY pizza tastes as it does, correct? I remember reading it elsewhen and someone mentioned it makes a huge difference to the texture.

Interesting, it was a convo someone was having about franchising their flex but they refused as they simply could not make dough of the same standard anywhere else.

One thing I've always found interesting is where you live in terms of income always has a huge difference in how the water is tasting. The ghetto spots were nearly always chemical to the max and hard as bricks whereas the rich locales had water from the tap that was so soft and mineral. May be a biased case of a small sample but it was very noticeable as they go OD on chlorine and the rest of the mess for the people with less.

Interesting. the lake can be extremely clean but the route to get from the treatment plant to your house is often times fairly long and with old iron pipes. (Older infrastructure). Your house can be brand new and the piping on your land can be Brand new but the inlet that connects to the public water/ sewer utility is often old iron. Some cities are replacing these old pipes due to erosion and deposit/mineral build up. In any case a filter can only help someone who uses tap.
