Kobe's role was different in the 3peat, he was mostly facilitating and getting his points through the course of the game. Once Shaq left he played a hybrid shooter/facilitator role in Phil's Triangle so I'd say that was part of what brought the extra ignorance. But Kobe always put up wild shots, he was puttin up #'s well before the age of 25.

Oh, and J.R. Smith isn't Kobe so no but he's a fun player to watch.
