The LI
Scott Steiner's run starting late 98 when he went "Big Poppa Pump", definitely a new appreciation of how incredible he was watching it week by week for the 1st time since I saw it live

The promos, the catchphrases, the swagger. He's on fire while they do Flair/Hogan fukkery for the title :francis:

Also Scott Norton just showing up from Japan every few months and fukking people up :russ:

These 3 hour Nitros are killer tho, some matches get way too much time, promos that go on far too long

Jerry lawler openly calling Goldust A faq as well as the canadian crowd chanting FAGG0T to HBK would've derailed the entire company LOL

Then the whole N word debacle between NOD/DX/Foundation would've gotten quite the attention in 2016 :russ:

When Sid was getting cheers over HBK despite the fact that HBK was supposed to be the face

Smarks COMPLETELY took over that match

Also...the way ECW fans slowly but surely began to infiltrate WWE in that era and ruin shows
I could watch that SS96 match over and over...Sid LOVED it too

When he straight up hugged vladimir at the end I lost it.

He's the heel but on the way down he's straight up giving daps to the fans and loving that shyt like "Oh yeah I got this :myman:"

Also when HBK made mention of Sunny getting her back blown out by Bret I'm like :gladbron:

My Own šŸŒ
cool thread :ehh: @Ed MOTHERfukkING G

i wouldn't know bout the greatness of NXT if it wasn't for my sub :wow:

Talking Smack is great so far and i hope they let them cook with the current format from here on out, great mix of kayfabe and reality and you get to hear what the superstars really think

i loved WM 2000 as a kid but in hindsight it was :scust: ladder match was the only thing notable

WM 30 was something special, i'm a fan of DB but even if i wasn't that show was legendary

CWC is very dope and i hope they make it an annual tourney

Heres another

Bobby heenan WAS COMPLETELY mailing it in from 96 on. He always looked uninterested and was uninspired on the mic.

For me, from the time Heenan left WWF, it was over for him. I knew it even back then.

He used to have me in ROLLING in WWF, but I never once even chuckled from his WCW announcing.

Bobby had his moments in WCW but the main difference is that Bobby had guys like Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura that had great chemistry with, Bobby didn't mesh well with Tony, Mongo and Tenay.

BREH,YES.

SNME was fukkin money....its the show that got me into wrestling because my parents werent copping most ppvs, MAYBE mania, but during the megapowers buildup i WOULD NEVER miss SNME...and they are all great...100% agreed.

The week after Savage turned on Hogan, we had music class in elementary and the teacher was playing Pomp and Circumstance and tried to discuss it with us. What ended up happening was all us boys in the class telling the teacher it was Macho Man's theme song and discussed the Mega Powers breaking up. Looking back, I'm pretty sure our teacher and the girls were :mindblown::dahell::wtf: at what this class turned into :pachaha:

Ventura never had good chemistry with anybody in WCW either.

How good and funny heel lawler was on commentary

that running joke JR and Lawler had when Lawler pretended Brian Christopher wasnt his son and JR would call him out on it :russ:

How much more charisma owen had than bret

and speaking of owen, I was watching their matches during their feud and man Bret did not want to give a credible win to owen :russ:

not even tag matches did Owen get the W :damn:

the one win he did have came off as a fluke win :sas2:

why you gotta be so selfish, Bret? :martin:

The cruiserweights were an essential part of WCW's rise. Eddie said it best, they were the backbone of the product. The NWO brought the viewers but guys like Eddie, Jericho, Malenko, Rey, Benoit etc. kept you tuned in.

DDP might be the GOAT late bloomer.

Jerry Lawler was once an amazing color commentator. I watch these old Raws and I can't believe what he's become.

It pisses me off how terribly the WWE used Vader. He should've been booked like current Lesnar and held the WWF title for at least a year.
