Yes, both of those movies were good as hell.
In Amerikkka, they're known as the "Elite Squad" movies. Anybody who loves "City of God" should check those out. It's about crooked cops in the favelas of Brazil. It's dope.
I just watched a dope ass movie called "Trash" last night that was ALMOST as good as these. Y'all should check it out.

Lots of cautionary and exception rules
1a. I remember Rocket and his friend decided to rob people. But everytime they picked a target, they had an excuse as to why they changed their mind. But I felt they criminal mentality just wasnt in them, thats why they made all the excuses.
1b. But to contradict the above statement. Knockout Ned wasn't a gangsta until his girlfriend got raped. But this kinda proves that that gangsta side is in everybody if a straight dude like Knockout Ned turned.
The Benny & Lil Ze ending just showed the different approaches to the crime life, but it still ended the same way..dead.
The Knockout Ned & Rocket- both started good but their lives ended differently.
Lil Ze & Rocket- one choose the criminal life one choose the honest way. One choose to shot with a gun, the other with a camera.

Knockout Ned was ex-military as well. He wasn't a straight square like Rocket.
A thing I peeped in CoG is women are sexual predators in Rio and maybe Brazil overall. It showed in how Blackie got the apartment and plus the woman who stole Rocket's pics at the newspaper fukked on him too. I'm not sure if Rocket was an adult yet.

They have interviewed these dudes they still in the favelas. Brazil is not what it's made to be. A lot of beautiful black people out there just hidden and out of sight.
