What black person "looks up" to Lincoln? At the most, we appreciate the strides he made. Its a well known fact that even after the Proclamation was signed it was years before all of the slaves in the south were even freed due to not being let aware of the situation or other factors.

Either way, if he didn't sign it, civil rights wouldn't have continued the way they did, and your black ass probably still couldn't read. You're mad because he didn't free ALL the slaves? It set in motion the 13th Amendment just a few years later that did. Things like that take time. It would have been impossible for him to keep a hold of the entire Union if he tried to abolish it in one quick swoop.
