lol am I not in on the joke? What the fukk are you talking about? A stupid meaningless angsty statement is “fire” lol
So idk how much the quote resonates with Drake situation only he and the people involved know that. But plenty in my life and I’m sure yours, when people had issues with me, they really had problems with themselves and couldn’t address that so they’d rather lash out against someone else.

The quote resonates with me

Exactly..

Kendrick’s whole catalog is him holding up that mirror to himself. Aubrey has NOTHING on him to get under his skin…

He got the skills, the sells, AND the respect.

Something that Aubrey craves so much..

Kendrick is respected amongst his peers and not just legends within hip-hop. But legends within music PERIOD. His music catalog is being taught in colleges, getting him meetings in the White House, being chanted during protests, and teaching people it’s okay to embrace their mental health.

He is doing that while rapping at a VERY high caliber.

Meanwhile Drake’s music has regressed to championing being petty, having dating issues with IG models, being paranoid about his friends, being rich, and trying to be a mafia boss.

He has nothing on Kendrick..he can’t talk about fukking his bytch (Kendrick is married). He can’t rap about having more fans than him (They are just about equal). He could talk about having more money then him but that ain’t gonna cut it.

The only thing he gonna do is send subshots and intimate him by rapping about street shyt. Acting like Kendrick don’t got Compton nikkas on stand by…

He probably gonna put his energy into dissing Future and Ross. But that will backfire too..

He should go out guns blazing like Ja Rule did but he won’t..cuz he a bytch ass nikka.

And it’s wild how we are really seeing him be a coward in real time..
I agree with that. Objectively speaking, I really wanna hear how Drake responds because like you've outlined, he doesn't have a clear angle he can go with in responding to Kendrick, that's why I think he wants Kendrick to drop his diss track.

More to go off of and directly respond to. Kendrick's verse on Like That while it was kinda general and was a bit of a repeat of what he's been going at Drake about, I think it was most effective due to hip hop having their eye on this beef for years and really wanting to see who'll emerge as supreme out of the Big 3 since the concept came about.

I think Drake should focus his response on the whole Michael Jackson vs Prince thing that Kendrick has leaned into as well. It's an interesting comparison and can work to Drake's advantage because that whole fued between MJ and Prince was more one sided and kinda made Prince look a little weird (which is why I think Drake wants Kendrick drop an actual diss song so he can paint him as obsessed.)

Based on the stories of some that knew both, Prince always was competing with Michael and wanted to go at MJ throat every time he could (Pause) whereas Michael just wanted to chill and be cool with Prince as he was fully secure in himself, being recognized as the King of Pop. He really didn't care that Prince was a better artist and musician than him, he had the love of the people.

Michael didn’t like Prince and he didn’t necessarily want to be friends with him. Michael also was competitive with Prince, not because he was insecure, but because Michael thought he was the best too. He once told a friend that when inspiration hit him he HAD to record the song or else God would take the idea from him and give it to Prince.

The average music fan back then I think definitely saw it as one sided.

I'm thinking of multiple people in the industry who knew both speaking in interviews, they kinda depict the situation as mainly Prince caring about that rivalry.

Famously, Michael invited Prince to feature on his song 'Bad' and dude took offense to it and went on a rant about how Michael was trying to be like him (if I remember correctly)

Also dude legit tried to hit Michael with a car
