Those farmers are gonna get a nice fat insurance check for their troubles.

The poor black single mother will be looking at 5 bucks for a loaf of bread. Like 8 bucks for a bag of grapes. And since animal feed is made from crops, 5 bucks for a bag of chicken thighs that used to be 2 something.

But it's cool tho, fukk them cacs, oodles of noodles will always be 25 cent a pack. High blood pressure is just a test from the lord

Farming is a year round business. They MAY get a check that MAY sustain them for this year, but that does fukk all for them long term. Im from the Midwest, I know how this works. Its not going to help them when Orange fukk is out of office and they are dead in the water again.

This is what THEY voted for...:birdman: you think those whote midwesterners voted for trump outta love???:mjlol:

He represented the lowest common denominator in their white supremacists minds and they WILLINGLY leapt at that beacon of whiteness at their own detriment... :manny:

I didn't vote for him but alot of WHITE people who are racist did...:manny: not my fault, not my problem...:hubie:

Cacs are more or less in control in all facets of the govt this is not on US...:upsetfavre:

Breh wtf are you even talking about. If the topic was that farmers had a surplus of food they couldn't sell because of the trade war you would have a point. But this topic is about nature fukking up the nation's food supply.

Ain't shyt hilary or trump could've done in 2 years to stop this.

We boarded this train a long time ago when our ancestors let politicians scare them into using fossil fuels instead of ethanol or biodiesel. Or when they let the government seize inventions for "national security" without any outside opinions or scrutiny. Or when we let politicians scare us into allowing them to keep endless wars going to secure oil when our supply dwindled and it was time to finally move on.

Again everything I said can be applied to D's and R's.

Both trash

Actually it’s the condemnation of science that is leading to events like this. If we didn’t have politics interfering with the scientific process and people actually understood that human impact is contributing to climate change, just like we accept the human impact affected the ozone layer, then maybe we could have done something about this. Instead politics got in the way and people voted for their political interest and now we are dealing with the effects.

Nah, there are entire countries that don't have nearly the "condemnation of science" issues that the USA does, and they still use FAR more than their fair share of resources and have produced FAR more than their fair share of carbon.

Rich liberals say they care about the environment, yet a large number of them still live in big homes, own multiple cars, and will fly internationally at the drop of a hat. Wealthy liberal billionaires who "believe the science" still fly in their private jets and refuse to eat local.

Greed did this. Greed Greed Greed. Greed is by far the leading factor in environmental catastrophe. And there may be more greedy conservatives than greedy liberals, but there sure as hell are plenty to go around on both sides. They just justify their greed in different ways.

I'm not going to believe people really care about the environment until they are willing to change their own lifestyle, make their own self-sacrifice, to bring their own environmental footprint down to a sustainable level.

I agree with you both political parties is trash, but I'm not even debating that, but I'm personally talking about who these white farmers voted for blindly and willingly because they sought a white savior...:ld:

I'm not even talking about the flood aspect or the god aspect I'm talking about just voting for trump aspect even after everything he said off the bat... that dude was a lunatic and these farmers voted for it...:francis:

The trade war is bullshyt like the other guy posted earlier without the trade war, but if they wasn't in the red because of it, they might have been better off... is all im saying...:hubie:

But I aint changing my stance they voted for this maniac in office, they deserve what they get...:martin:

Considering he was the one who rolled back climate protections, installed oil lobbyist at the head of climate change comittees and pushes policy that aims to make climate change WORSE then yes, the fingers are pointing on the right direction

'It's a ghost page': EPA site's climate change section may be gone for good

Green movement 'greatest threat to freedom', says Trump adviser

nikkas don't know shyt

Just a bunch of pseudo militant posturing and macho bullshyt

I should feel sorry for these pieces of trash who don't believe that their ignorance towards the environment will lead to sustained suffering and their eventual downfall?

The fukk outta here :mjlol:

Picture me feeling sorry for apes who secretly want to be serfs and be ruled by a man who is the antithesis of everything they stand for EXCEPT racism :russ:

Greed for the lack of a better word is good. We are all guilty of that sin. But at the same time you need sustained government policy to push for change. Montreal Protcol is a great example. CFC’s were destroying the ozone layer, but the average person going to the store is just trying to fix their hair. So you needed change at a government level to change the manufacturing process.

I see the same thing with carbon. I feel like you have to target the manufacturing process. It’s more than changing the lifestyle people live. If you had sustained subsidies for green energy like you do corn you would see better technology. Maybe a hybrid electric fleet of planes. Mandating solar or at least more incentives. Pushing manufactures to be more depending on fuel efficiency or banning harmful things just like we did with lead.

Flood or no flood....those "farmers" are likely not seeing a check

That 12B is going to big business agriculture...not Joe Schmo the potato farmer in Nebraska

Yeah I bet they do want some help right now...

What's that Red State farmers? Too much government? Keep your government out of my life??

Cool...NOT A fukkING DIME then. Tell FEMA to keep their asses right where they are and catch up on Game of Thrones or something :camby:

Oh my bad....we still on that "Both Sides" huh? Ok....ya'll gon learn :mjlol:

There are two issues with that.

One is that people are only willing to pass legislatively that which they're willing to see their own lives change personally. Banning CFC's worked because that was the degree of personal life change people were wiling to put up with. It was barely noticeable to us. But more environmental problems will require much more personal change, and we haven't demonstrated willingness to do that yet.

Two, so long as we're still greedy and overconsuming, all those government fixes are just shuffling pieces around. You mention corn subsidies? That's been useless for the environment, and has had all sorts of other negative unforeseen consequences too. If we subsidized green technology but maintain ugly overconsumption, you would just start to see new problems - too much land taken up by massive "renewable" projects, all sorts of pollution from battery and solar cell production, etc. Everyone is fixated on carbon, but carbon is just one piece of the puzzle. There are so many different environmental problems right now, affecting so many different aspects of life, that we'll never catch up with regulation for them all. Companies are just way to good at getting around regulation, and if we're only shifting overconsumption of one energy source to overconsumption of a different one, then we're just moving the problem around.

We have to stop overconsuming. There's no magic technical fix. So long as we're flying just to fly and driving just to drive, so long as we're buying shyt just to throw it away, so long as we keep supersizing everything just to be bigger than our neighbors, we're going to be on a path of destroying the world.

Reap what you sow :pachaha: :umad:

To all y'all "Bu... bu... but this effects everyone, let's get in a drum circle and cry for the plight of the rural common man. :sadbron:"

Did you not read the article? :stopitslime:

Most of these fukks weren't the kind of self-sustaining farmers y'all assumed they were, they werent some old macdonald type with poor little pigs that put food on their table, these were people growing large amounts of soybeans for export to china... and then Trump decided to fukk around and get in a trade war with China :mjlol:

No American was going to eat their soybeans. These were fukkin GMO factory farms that got caught with their pants down, because they elected a demagogue who forced them to store all their product in fukking plastic pipes, and then a rainstorm hit. :mjlol:

This is one step away from a bunch of wall street bankers being forced to hide all their money in shoeboxes, and having it get set on fire. :mjlol:

Like those toothless fuks in those flyover states didn’t do the same when Obama was in office:stopitslime:. They still doing it now with their whataboutisms every time they get cornered with facts...fuk outta here. Far as I’m concerned, cancer is Trump’s fault...
