If the Mets are out of it by the deadline do you trade Degrom to replenish the system?
Mets system is garbage so unless they finally plan to spend money and sign a big name next off-season there’s no way they can improve much.
With the Yankees beasting right now though there’s no way I can see Wilpon letting the Mets tear it down and go to a straight rebuild

I trade DeGrom, Syndergaard, Conforto... trade them all. I don’t care what the Yankees are doing, I watch them too and I commend them for rebuilding so quickly using resources that the Mets should have as well.
The Mets though are not spending money to sign Machado or Harper, that’s not even an option. Mets rarely ever shop in the A isle.
Syndergards only 25 though so he’s young enough to be apart of a rebuild and be in his prime when we’re good again
Chances we draft or trade for a pitcher of his caliber in the next decade is pretty slim anyway
And I don’t care that the Yankees are good either on terms of rebuilding but Wilpon does and he isn’t gonna want to see 3 thousand at citifield while the Yankees are the best team in baseball

That's their problem. If they spent money, they wouldn't have to do that. The Cubs have a minor league system worse than the Mets and spent money this past offseason. Even though Darvish hasn't worked out so far, they didn't go cheap.
If they completely blow it up, I won't follow baseball anymore. The fans will revolt and they know that. They're not even trying. That's the issue and Alderson is complicit in this.

I really hope Matz can put it together. If ces ever comes back, who is getting benched, Gonzalez or Bruce. There is no way you can bench Nimmo at this point. He leads baseball in OBP.

Mets aren't doing a good job of hitting tonight (again). Bruce has all of left field open if he drops a bunt. Why doesn't anyone know how to bunt anymore? He's killing them.

Bunting against the shift is one of those stupid "unwritten rules" of baseball, someone did that earlier in the season (Not the Mets) and the other team got mad about it.
IDK if Reyes can still run but if he can, he should try bunting for infield singles every now and then.
