Yup it's not just on the court, it's shoes too. MJ is literally at the crux of both basketball AND sneakerhead discourse. He's just ingrained in pop culture in a way that'll never be replicated. MJ just showed up the right time and into the right situatio to capitalize.

NBA was on tape delay before Bird/Magic came along. They brought people in, not the game itself. Everybody would be compared to them if Mike hadnt come along.
