Drug kingpin Alpo Martinez shot dead in NYC drive-by

Drug kingpin Alpo Martinez shot dead in NYC drive-by

A notorious drug dealer from New York City who served decades in prison for murder — and was in witness protection for testifying against his associates — was slain on a Harlem street corner in his SUV Sunday morning, police sources said.

Alberto “Alpo” Martinez, a drug kingpin who was portrayed by Cam’ron in the 2002 movie “Paid In Full,” was killed in a drive-by shooting as he sat in his 2017 Dodge Ram at 147th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 3:30 a.m., cops said. He was shot five times.

After he was shot, Martinez lost consciousness and crashed into a parked vehicle.

Martinez, whose last known address was in Maine, was rushed to Harlem Hospital but couldn’t be saved.

A high-ranking police source said Martinez was in danger as soon as he returned to his old stomping ground.

“You were in the witness protection program because you testified against other drug dealers,” the source said.

“You’d make a lot of enemies who have a score to settle,” the source said. “When you return to the same area, word will get out very fast. He’s back in the zone.”

The source, who said Martinez’s vehicle had paper plates from Texas, said it wasn’t clear if Martinez had left witness protection entirely or was just back for a visit.

Photos from the scene showed his bullet-ridden, red SUV.

“It seems pretty intentional when you shoot somebody five times,” a police source said. There were no immediate arrests.

Martinez dealt drugs in the same neighborhood where he was killed in the mid–1980s before he was busted for dealing crack in Washington, DC.

Martinez was released from prison in 2015 while serving a 35-year sentence at ADX Florence, a federal supermax prison in Colorado.

“Paid in Full” was based on the story of Martinez and his partners Rich Porter and Azie Faison.

He was profiled on a 2012 episode of the TV series “Gangsters: America’s Most Evil” and name-checked by numerous rappers, including Nas in “Memory Lane (Sittin’ In Da Park)” and songs by Jay-Z and 50 Cent.

Can understand Rich and his peoples or other people affected by Alpo destruction. But these weirdos wit no relation to the streets saying good riddance because alpo was rat is fukking sickening to me.
I don't say good riddance because he was a rat. But the fact that he snaked everyone that ever trusted him. The way he spoke about it afterwards too, you can tell he got a buzz from it. He enjoyed being a snake. This is a good lesson for everyone, weather in the streets or not. Snake shyt only gets you so far. :yeshrug:

DC nikkas like :smugdraper:
now the coli cant dikkeat NY for letting alpo walk around freely anymore
Besides wanting to know who, only other question I have is was this Harlem or DC?

I keep hearing this on YouTube but
What I don't understand that logic from folks cause Wayne killed most of the people in his own city In DC so therefore Wayne has enemies from victims families including killing women. Folks talking that DC stuff are just doing that for clout as it's insanity to defend a serial hitman like Wayne and vice versa .

AlPO stated that he could've told on lots of people in DC and various cities he did dealing with and associates etc . Also, none of these guys were community activists so for folks in DC or elsewhere to celebrate must be kids or those who try to find a way to be in the mix of this street dialogue. If anything, folks should be mad at poison spread on the streets and violence by all these guys

Don't forget AlPo had one or two bodies in NY besides Rich Porter.so his enemy list wasn't just one or two people.

Also, the 14 murders wasn't just DC .people keep forgetting the bodies was in multiple cities as he stated confess to.

Perhaps it was new beef .

One thing for sure , his name get the YouTube algorithms jumping for folks. YouTubers will eat this week.
