that was deathnote right? never watched it so dont understand what happened besides the name in book thing. who was that demon with him and why did he kill him?
Death Note is about a Death God who kills people by writing a name in his book that he carries. One day he got bored so he dropped his book to see who will pick it up... the person who picked it up is a young up and comer in the law enforcement field name Light Yugami. The Death God reveals himself to Light and told him that the book he found is a Death Note that can kill anyone by:
A. Writing that person's name in the book and writing how you want them to specifically die
or
B. Just write a person's name in the book without a description and that person will simply die of a heart attack
*also you have to imagine the person's image in your head when you write their name so the right person will die not a person with the same name
Light goes on a killing spree going online looking at convicts and criminal's photos that the police post after they are caught and writes their names on the Death Note killing hundreds having everyone shook and developing an ego calling himself a "god of justice". There's way more to it if you watch the anime but that's pretty much the set up.
Now why he blew up in the Cell Ring I am questioning that myself as well....
