:manny: Its simple, Harden thought that he could decline the previous offer before this season, and he assumed that he would play out the season and another team will offer them the max and than it was up to OKC to decide if they want to match it, which Harden probably was confident that OKC would match. :yeshrug: shyt happens and Presti shipped him out. But, right now it looks like it might be a mistake with how HArden has played so far in 3 games, but lets just see how the season unfolds.

My brother's keeper
My only thing is when people tried to play Harden like he wasn't a good player in his own right because he "came off the bench".

That was the sucker shyt that made me support dude getting his money.

It's one thing to say take less to keep the core together, it's something completely different to say he doesn't deserve the money because he actually WAS doing what the team felt was best by coming off the bench while being clearly better and playing more minutes than the "starter".

When they don't respect you? fukk you, pay me

Yep. If anything, it exonerates Harden. My point is that the default position of the sports media is to blame the player for being greedy and disloyal.

Nobody's blaming Harden for taking the money. They're wondering whether he was worth it and stupidly after 3 games feel like he's worth an extension he hasn't begun to cake off of yet.

If anything, OKC is under the gun because they HAVE to win a title to justify everything they're doing. Harden's literally playing with house money because he has zero team expectations to live up to for now.

Young Sabo is the one that should have been traded :yeshrug: Only man in the NBA that looks at a wide open Durant and "doesn't see him."

If they dealt a 2 time all-star PG to Houston and Russy has the start Harden has, everyone would be like "Presti you dumb motherfukker you just traded a dynamic PG for some fukkin picks, all so James Harden can be your PG :smh:"

The ONLY way OKC could look good was to max Harden out and swallow the luxury tax that none of us give a shyt about. They couldn't win.
