It will leak or might be in a directors cut and that could be how the new generation remembers him. We live in a time where folks whole legacies spanning decades can get destroyed, bushed, and redefined in 1 day ( Kellz, Cosby, Diddy etc. ).

Denzel was one the few that never had any real controversy or anything suspect. Just black excellence for 30+ years straight. Reminds me of that Eddie Griffen interview where he stated black stars can never leave the business clean.

The new generation is not going to primarily remember Denzel from a director's cut of a movie that isn't guaranteed to be anywhere near as successful as the original.

I don't see this as leaving the business "dirty" but I know that's just me.
