Was branch even a starter on the Chiefs? I know he stole our sole when he picked carr.

But I would have to go back and see at the time the decision was made to agree or not. Who knew nate would get hurt the first Play .and when he came back it was no where near the supporting cast branch had with kc.

I'm pretty sure branch didn't start tho, unless the starter got injured.

Both them nikkas let me down tbh.

i don't think he started but as a raider breh was getting 100 tackles a season. one of the biggest weaknesses was tackling last year and that was branch's specialty. meanwhile nate Allen out here getting juked out his socks and taking terrible angles on a regular basis. nikka was the worst safety easily, got outplayed by Charles, tj, and taylor mays. out there looking like black matt giodorno and shyt.

Let's not rewrite history .

We gave branch a big contract to keep him. He got hurt back to back seasons totalling 5 games played . And 2 of those he didn't even finish. By cutting him we saved over 15 mill.

Could we of cut him and resigned him like we did nate ? Maybe.

Depending on a safety to be a leading tackler is the wrong goal to try to achieve. Nate is known for his ball hawking interception skills. Where tyvon lacked. Branch had a total of 4 interception (5 now) in his career where nate was coming off a 4 interception year ( 12 total) .

So now that I think about it I don't blame the raiders cutting tyvon branch. Mckenzie did the right thing by locking him in for a 4 year deal after a franchise tag. But with our luck we got less than 5 full games.

And I salute nate for taking a pay cut. We gonna be top 3 in free money this year.

in not rewriting history, branch was a top 10 strong safety. he had back to back freak injuries but before that he played damn near every game. nobody is saying to depend on tyvon to be leading tackler, that speaks more to how trash the front 7 was at the time. it's the fact that he could tackle. nate allen's inability to tackle cost the team last year.
