he was supposed to be the heir to LA.
when asked who he compares himself to.
As a football player I would definitely say Kobe just because of the mentality," said Carr. "And that's not me being funny or silly. He is my favorite athlete of all time. I used to watch his movies, his youtube videos, documentaries, everything. I thought he was the most competitive person I've ever seen and I wanted to be just that competitive. Just to have the grit, the determination to work hard, train, do all the things that your body doesn't want to do.

L.A. Mayor: Crime Rates Down Since Raiders Left:stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime:

Now that Los Angeles has acquired the Rams, its interest in a second NFL team has apparently plummeted. The city's mayor, Eric Garcetti, has already wished the San Diego Chargers well in their pursuit of a new home, and he's said he hopes they end up staying where they are, for rivalry's sake.

As for the Oakland Raiders? Well, as he explained to ESPN's Capitol Games podcast, the Raiders -- and their fans -- bring some baggage.

"Crime has gone down every single year since the Raiders left L.A. [after 1994]," Garcetti said.

He later said he was "half-joking," which, of course, means he was also half-serious.

A quick dive into the numbers suggests his statement was half-true. Los Angeles has, indeed, enjoyed a nice decline in crime in the time since the Raiders left. The Los Angeles Times reports that before a crime spike at the start of 2015, the city had seen crime rates decline every year for a 12-year span.

That 12-year run, however, started nearly a decade after the Raiders left town. Even if it coincided perfectly with the franchise's move to the Bay Area, the connection would be purely coincidental. But it's even more of a stretch to connect the team's departure in the mid-1990s to lower crime rates in the mid-2000s.

At the same time, it's easy to pick on Raiders fans for being a bunch of crime-riddled pirates and ne'er-do-wells. So let's go ahead and do that.

Brehs.....barring injury or terrible management, we've got ourselves a QB. I hope Carr lets gawd into his life and his heart and he experiences changes in his life.

Brehs, somehow someway this team has to get to LA. It's obvious we'd be the most lucrative franchise in the LA area and the Raiders are the only team to bring the city a Superbowl. If the Raiders gotta leave Oakland it can only be to LA, the league needs to do the right thing.

It don't look like they staying in Oakland so LA is the only option. :manny:
No it's not SD and SA are legit options. Also, the chargers have first dibs on L.A so if they want to go we aren't, so it can't be our only option.

If the team does move here, Davis should build the stadium between Austin and San Antonio. About 45 minutes from both cities. (South of San Marcos, New Braunfels) Capitalize off some of the Raider fans in San Antonio, and the money (corporate sponsors) of Austin. The call the team, the Texas Raiders. I will be at the first game.

Even dead, al losing money... Mark has to sell this team.... at this point I don't mind a new owner having the team in San Diego or San Antonio

Late Raiders owner Al Davis' estate loses tax feud

The estate of late Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis has been sacked for a loss in a long-running legal battle with the IRS.

In a ruling Monday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that Davis was obligated to pay the government about $2.5 million in a feud with the IRS over three years of federal taxes dating back to 1990. The appeals court overturned a San Francisco federal judge who previously ruled the IRS should refund the tax money to Davis because it had been improperly assessed.

While the 9th Circuit agreed that the IRS made mistakes in dealing with Davis' tax situation, the court determined the well-known Raiders owner was nevertheless not entitled to the refund under the procedures in his tax court appeals. The judges did note that Davis' estate may have other options to pursue the money but took no position on that possibility.

Davis sued the IRS in 2011, just months before his death, leaving his wife, Carol, and his estate to pursue the legal claims. The dispute centered on three years of federal tax claims, 1990, 1992 and 1995, with the bulk of the refund conflict involving $1.8 million in 1992, according to court papers.

The 9th Circuit described Davis as a "gridiron icon" in the ruling, but also noted that he and the Raiders "were hardly strangers to the courts" by the time he sued the IRS, citing his many legal feuds with the National Football League
