That’s not how the court works. A concurring opinion is nothing more than wanting to say some extra shyt that hold no binding weight in law. Same as the dissent is nothing but you wanting to shout out why you don’t like the majority opinion. If they did, they’d effectively endorsed such opinions and signals on how they’d rule on those other cases. But it is still separate from the majority opinion which does not argue these points.

Correct. My understanding, from what’s been reported, is that the majority opinion explicitly says that abortion is unique and thus this decision does not apply to contraception and gay marriage. Thomas makes it explicit in his concurrence that he does believe that contraception and gay marriage are on the chopping block.
