No mention of any songs from Camrons Purple Haze album or Nas' Street Disciple album.
Haze came out December 7th so it was VERY close to 05 but you are right it came out in late 2004 (Great album and one of my faves that year).
Nas November 30th so you are right there too on the release in 2004, that Moment Of Slience video used to get a lot of spins I remember at the time! Not his best album but I liked quite a few songs on there.
2004 was nice, remember all of those songs from my first year at my new job and I got all the CD's when they came out, good times.

My cousin brought that Carter CD on release date too…

I remember him playing it to death from Summer 2004-Summer 2005.

Go DJ was the last time that we heard Mannie Fresh and Wayne.

After that, Cash Money brought in T-Mix and The Runners

SOHH. y'all didn't go back and find the real legends of the time ... you're just content to sit with whatever they fed to on the radio at that time? And to you time has passed so you are mentally going to elevate that to high esteem as if those were actually hit songs and not just commercial budgets that fickled out as soon as the budgets ran their course?

Okay ...

Wayne’s ascension to his prime was a moment. You couldn’t miss him. He was everywhere.

Oh you’re not from the states. Shut up.

Yes, it was to real hip-hop fans, and people in the streets.

Back then we didn’t care about the Billboard charts. We didn’t even know what that shyt was 😅

It wasn't a big crossover song, but it started the Wayne hype train. I remember "Get Something" flopping in 2003 and Tha Carter getting pushed back. "Bing It Back" got the album on the shelves and actually started a buzz around Wayne. In hindsight, that song is actually forgettable especially with "Go DJ" being what people typically remember as the single from that album. Once the album dropped, I don't remember people really talking about "Bring It Back" as much as the other songs on the album.
