Anything for 15 minutes of fame. Some of them were clueless though. The saddest was the one chick that met an inmate and married him the day he got out. She claimed she wanted to do it to better understand her husband. She called home and her daughter was terrified on the phone "Mom...when you coming home?

Haven't seen all the seasons to know em like that but i'll say the one with that crazy Puerto Rican dude Abner was as close as real as I saw. At least here in California it is. it's all politics.

The stress of worrying about your charges, finding the right lawyer, how you going to pay them, losing your job are all major parts of being locked up that this show can't replicate. County jail is almost always way worse than prison (not including supermax facilities and prisons that are stuck in the 1950s). In Florida they are placing new inmates on 23 hour lockdown for the first two weeks because of covid. Don't know how long they going to keep doing that, but I assume a lot of jails are.
I've only seen seasons 3,4, & 6, but Jon, Emmanuel, and Dennis are the only ones I respect that did this program. Everyone else is some weirdos, racists, or punk ass bytches imo. Anyone know how much the participants are getting paid? Google said probably 1-3K per episode
