biggest problem apart from the obvious is the amount of filler episodes the past two seasons...it feels like they've got the endgame done in their head and are waiting for the studio to let them know if they want another season or not and til then they are filling it up with ideas from some of the stuff they had ideas for years ago and can now introduce them and its getting in the way of the bigger picture because there still have been some big character arcs in it (Robyn can't have kids) but it got kind of got lost if you put it in between too much filler.

still watch it but it's not great anymore.

edit-this person seems annoyed but is quite accurate.

What's the Ted and Robin situation? They still doing the "it's hard to be friends" bs?
W/ that said, HIMYM is not a show I watch every week, basically I may watch the reruns on FX.

When I catch the newer episodes, I'm like :why:
fukk did they do to Barney? They turned him into a simp :damn: :sadbron:

Yeah the past 2 season have been :flabbynsick:

At this point IM only watching to see how Ted actually meets their mother...if it doesn't pick up or they don't reveal the mother IM just have to stop watching soon.

Another thing that pisses me off with this show is the Barney and Robin relationship. I didn't mind them dating, but no way should they be getting married to each other. Their whole characters are based around them not wanting to ever get married.

For Ted and Robin's relationship to end based on the grounds of her not wanting to marry Ted.. just for them to turn around and have Barney and Robin end up married makes zero sense.

How I Met Your Mother Season 8: The Tarnished Legacy of a Hit Sitcom

this exactly it and why i'm not throwing criticism around on how it 'fell off'. im sure the writers knew the premise was never gonna work for an infinite amount of seasons but it keeps getting ratings so :yeshrug: there's no artistic integrity, a few series, if allowed to end on their own unselfish terms, would go down as classics, himym being one of them

im watching out of habit the past few seasons, i never cared about the mother, i just :wow: at the scrubs-lite himym peak, i remember how good it used to be. they even start recycling characters, thats how desperate they are!

it seems to be a trend with the cbs comedies ive watched (well, just himym and bbt) - it seems when they run out of stories, all of a sudden some character does things totally uncharacteristic of their former selves, in order to milk a storyline out of it.

barney -> got soft and fell for the stripper, they dragged that on forever and it was never funny or worthwhile
sheldon, howard (bbt) -> got soft, apparently socially damaged sheldon somehow got a gf, and howard the loser as well, they dragged that on forever and it was never funny or worthwhile
ari (entourage) -> got soft and everything came crashing down

justified away with a "character growth" bytch get the fukk outta here
