Quoted from your article.
Larger and heavier objects are generally safer than smaller and lighter objects.

Moreover my comment isn't about automobile collisions and other general safety tests as mentioned in this article. I'm speaking specifically to hitting a pedestrian or animal head on ( the argument that pedestrians are making) . and the pros and cons of having them roll over the top of your vehicle vs underneath.
They mention trucks aren't safer in driver side collisions for example. duh they aren't made of any safer material.
I don't even know how to respond to this.

Larger and heavier objects are generally safer....but the study literally concluded that trucks are more dangerous, so....

The study's conclusion doesn't defeat my argument. Actually if anything it supports my argument.

my post wasn't in response to a person arguing the safety of trucks in general, it was responding to them saying that they are more dangerous to pedestrians when they are larger.

My point is 1) pedestrian safety is not a driver's primary concern. driver safety is.
2) its safer for the driver to run over a pedestrian like a speed bump, than it is for a driver to collide head on with a pedestrian. as your article confirms.

no getting around these two points.
