Litigation
In May 2011, it has been ruled that USPA cannot use the word “polo” in conjunction with its Double Horsemen mark on fragrances in reference to litigation with Polo Ralph Lauren.[7] The N.Y. federal judge said it is possible for the parties to engage in licensing activities that do not conflict with each other.
In October 2013, Ralph Lauren filed a case in a US district court against USPA and textile firm Arvind Ltd, which has the license to manufacture and market USPA branded products in India. In June 2015, Arvind Ltd settled the dispute by paying $3.2 million to the Ralph Lauren Corp. of the US. [8]

The origins of the RL Corporation began with men's ties, Polo Ralph Lauren in 1981. Born in 1939 as Ralph Lifshytz (he later changed his name to Ralph Lauren) in The Bronx, New York, to Ashkenazi Jewish parents from the Soviet Union (Belarus), Lauren pursued a career in menswear and had gained background working for Datrian Riser. He received a $50,000 loan to realize his vision for men's ties. By 1969, he had a boutique store within the Manhattan department store Bloomingdale's. Around that same time, he released a line of suits for women that were tailored in a classic men's style; and first used the Polo emblem on the cuff of the suit. In 1971, Polo Ralph Lauren launched its first women's collection of apparel and the first stand-alone store was opened in Beverly Hills, California.
The company entered the European market, and went international, in 1981 with the opening of a store on New Bond Street in the West End of London, England.
The Polo Sport line was introduced in 1993. In 1997, the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange. By now, the company was structured to operate as an umbrella for its brands and other ventures and would be named the Ralph Lauren Corporation by the early-21st century. It was originally named Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, but in subsequent years[clarification needed] the Polo in the name was dropped to reflect the company's presence in other concepts beyond the Polo line. The original Polo line remained as the flagship brand of the company. Ralph Lauren Corporation also manages several other brands, including Ralph Lauren Black Label, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Ralph Lauren Blue Label, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Club Monaco, and Chaps.
The U.S. Polo Assn. brand is the official brand of the USPA. The Association's trademarks and logos worldwide are managed by USPA Properties, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the USPA.
Profits generated by USPA Properties, Inc. through the sale of U.S. Polo Assn. brand products directly support the USPA and its various programs. Since incorporation in 1981, U.S. Polo Assn. has reached total global retail sales in excess of $1 billion. These revenues provide benefits for the Association's player members, support training centers for interscholastic and intercollegiate polo competition and fund programs in umpiring, competition and equine welfare.
While there are more important things to worry about, you're clueless if you think this is meaningless. Part of being in the White House is having integrity. And brains. I always get extra mad at people who do wrong but do it in such a way that it was inevitable they got caught.damn people actually care about this. i bet you NOONE noticed that until they read the paper.
faux outrage. more important things to worry about
