Salvadoreans in the US sent over 3.5 billion in remittances to El Salvador (where my family is from), and that's one of the smallest countries in Central America.

Mexico got 22 billion, Guatemala over 4 billion, and Honduras over 2.5 billion.

Latinos are making money, but so much of it is going back to Central America to provide for millions of families that rely solely on money made in the US. My family goes through this so I can speak from experience. We could live better but we send lots of money to El Salvador to help my parents brothers and parents.

If the area has a growing population of hispanics then this isn't hard to believe seeing as they practice group economics like white people during segregation.

Living in cali and seeing shyt like speaking spanish as a requirement for job applications and promotions is a real thing. And even if your a non hispanic that meets these requirements, the hispanic higher ups still prefer to hire their own people. If your a Spanish speaking white person then you have it made.

And it's also in the places that these imagrants are heading to, like cali, that you can see the racism that exist in these people.

They see black people as an obstacle that's in their way. They use our struggles and our past battles to humanize themselves to white people that hate them but their ultimate goal is to align themselves with white people. They will never stand with us and we shouldn't fight for their interest.

I'm confused as to how this initiative costs California money...

Thousands of Mexicans show up at all DMV offices around California without enough DMV employees to process their driver's license applications in a timely manner. To get applications completed faster for everyone, the state hires more DMV employees to process the larger number of applicants that have come in. Hiring these extra DMV employees cost the state money.

I guess they could have tacked on an extra $20 fee, but then some lawyer would have called that illegal and unfair treatment of illegal aliens because they have to pay more.

There is already racism endemic to labor markets, having to compete as a poorer demographic pushes black people out of jobs they historically did.

You talk about Latinos and Hispanics practicing group economics and hiring their own people but isn't that what black people want too? Latinos AND black people both want to help their own people so I don't understand the hostility towards Latinos just because they're putting into practice what black people would do too


You could make a case that Latinos are fukking with black economics, but only a small percentage of Latinos are vying for careers that aren't factory or manual labor jobs. It's obviously a bigger percentage in heavily populated Latino populations like Cali, but that's only a few states at most.
