i'm looking to go to NY in december for 2 weeks. I want to stay in a airbnb to have the NYC experience but most of them are hotels now unless I want to spend 11k+ :damn:

The fees/taxes these mufukkas ask is ridiculous:

The space

Important: Please read carefully.

— Taxes are not included in the check-out price on Airbnb; these will be collected when you check in: Hotel tax of 14.75% + Occupancy taxes of $3.50

Mandatory fees
— An incidental deposit of $100 per night is required at arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 7 days of check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full by credit card, subject to an inspection of the property.

nikka what :damn:

1 person 18 nights is 5K + 737$ in hotel tax + 3,5$ + 100$ * 18 night (refundable but still) 1800$.

5737$ + a additional 1800$ that they will hold. fukk this bullshyt

City felt like airbnb was a problem contrinuting to the housing shortage and did something about it.

Go stay with the pawgs in Hoboken and commute in.

yeah and you almost only have hotels on it fleecing people with fees. :snoop: might as well go to booking.com and avoid the airbnb service feel all together

the deposit posts to next month's bill but deducts from this month's when it's reversed... with a two week vacation you should have between 14 and 43 days to play with a "free" $2k, i'd see it as a chance to make a small come up :manny:

NYC is trying to discourage airbnbs from existing without getting sued by the owners so they hatched this little tax scheme. Best bet is to find someone's homely baby mama in Washington Heights for a few days. If you tryna 1 person you could probably find a decent single room at a hostel tho

The city discouraging the use of Airbnb's during a hotel room shortage is stupid as hell. I wonder how much money their losing on tourism?

NYC hotel rooms are averaging over $300 a night as many hotels exclusively house migrants, reducing supply during a tourism boom

Air BnB is the same as a hotel after they stopped subsidizing the cost of business
