New York, Tokyo and the San Francisco bay area are the places where the most millionaires live, according to a report by Henley & Partners Group, a residency advisory firm.
Half of the top 10 cities with the most millionaires are in the United States. Still, a closer look at the data reveals that New York city lost 12% of its high net-worth individuals in the first half of 2022 while San Francisco bay area saw a 4% increase. London, which holds the fourth place, saw a 9% decline. The report defines millionaires as those with investable assets of 1 million dollars or more.

The statistics, collected by intelligence firm New World Wealth, show that Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, and Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates’s third most populous city, are the those with the fastest growing millionaire population so far this year.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are also among the cities with the fastest growing millionaire population as the UAE lures the ultra-rich with a low tax regime and new residence schemes. The emigration of affluent Russians has also contributed to record inflows into UAE.

Beijing and Shanghai, which hold the ninth and tenth places on the list of wealthiest cities, respectively, have also recorded losses as Henley & Partners predict China will see the the second-largest wealth outflow after Russia this year.

All that flexing they do down in Atlanta, I would’ve surely thought they’d make the list. :whew:

Why is Atlanta considered the Capital of the South again? :jbhmm:

Notice Miami isn’t even in the top 20 :laff:

The suburbs
I don’t know anybody that has this impression of LA. NYC is the global king of wealth. Even surpasses London.

Even if you look at movies that depicted wealth in LA and New York, you had shyt like Clueless, Beverly Hills 90210 vs shyt like Cruel Intentions, Meet Joe Black or Gossip Girl. You’d be hard pressed to walk away thinking LA is seeing NYC in wealth in any type of capacity.

I had no idea. I don’t be in Texas like that, visited a few times for conventions but as much as Atlanta blows its own horn, you’d think Dallas or Houston is second rate.

Is Dallas and Houston better for black folk than Atlanta?

Texas, if it were it’s own country, would be the 15th largest country by GDP.

I do think DTX and HTX are better for black folks simply because there’s strong industry within those cities. There are like 42 F500 companies in Dallas alone eg Exxon, ATT, American Airlines etc. Houston is like the defacto energy and O&G HQ of the US.

ATL might have the “culture” but from I’ve seen, Houston and Dallas have more substance so to speak.

You know what when I look at the other firje in America it’s not surprising that Chicago isn’t that high.

Wonder where Boston ranks
Many millionaires in Boston live in the Back Bay section of the city. But overall the wealthy live in the surrounding towns next to the city. Especially the Metro West towns like Wellesley, Weston, Winchester, Lexington, Needham, Belmont, etc..

This is actually a good question. I always forget to include Boston but I would have probably ranked it ahead of Chicago.

Boston’s Metro West
Boston’s North Shore
Fairfield County Ct.
The Philadelphia Main Line
The North Shore of Chicago

Are hands down the grandest and most beautiful suburban enclaves in the entire country.

Nyc/Boston/Chicago/new England/east coast = old money

San Francisco tech scene/ los angeles Hollywood scene /California/west coast= new money

@ab.aspectus
Yeah New England is the old money...like the Bush family. That "my 12th great grandfather was on the Mayflower and learned how to plant corn from Squanto" heritage. Chicago and New York have a lot of Jews and immigrants that made it big.
