One way to compare Canada and the U.S. is in the area of post-secondary education. I don't think I'd be able to afford to go to university in the U.S. if I lived there.. Especially as the child of immigrants. Because university is so cheap in my province, I have been able to work during the summers and incur no student debt. I'm currently doing an MA and still debt free.
