you mean the mid-30's big men minus sheed?

2nd year duncan outplayed prime shaq. explain that.

Shaq wasn't that great of a defender and especially had problems defending bigs that had a mid range shot...

Shaq was still unstoppable on the offensive end though....Seriously the best defense ANYBODY had for him at that time was to foul the shyt out of him.

Exactly.

These fukkers in here disgust me.

Nobody is saying that but Shaq was at his absolute best when he was Lakers. His MVP year is without a doubt his peak. Now with that said even before he got to his prime he played very well against the other Elite bigs in the league.

Oh no, Shaq got outplayed by another one of the greatest centers of all-time. What a fukking shame. :rudy:

And don't act like Duncan or anybody else ever shut Shaq down.

Duncan always outplayed shaq tho,(99',02' and 03') he killed him. The difference in all those series was Kobe's dominance. That's the advantage shaq had over every great big in history

"Prime" shaq was held to 9 points going into the 4th quarter of the biggest game of his life in game 7 against the Blazers in 00'. If that's not shutting down I dont know what is

It's the truth, what other great big man(aside from wilt with west) had another 30 PPG scorer on his squad? With the ability to flat out take over games and 4th quarters.

Duncan and Hakeem never had anyone close to that. What series does Duncan lose of Ginobli averages 33 PPG?

He didn't really outplay Shaq. At the most you could argue they cancelled each other out at times.

Kobe was definitely dominating the Spurs during the 3 peat though.

In order for someone to have outplayed Shaq they would've needed to slow him down offensively (which nobody did) AND put up better offensive numbers than him (which nobody did).

How didn't Duncan outplay shaq in 99', ESPECIALLY 02', ad 03'.

Duncan averaged almost 30 a game in the 02' series. The difference in that series was Kobe's 3 straight 10 Pt 4th quarters from games 3-5
