I'm from MD...and it wasn't THAT many Asians here when I was growing up..its possible I just never paid attention but that's why I made the thread to see if its just me or if anyone else has noticed it too..

And shut the h3ll up with that wanna be from dc shyt... The area is called the DMV per the radio stations per the Metro per anybody from here the past 50 years. And it fits what I'm talking about in the op... If I'm filling out an application of course in not going to write I'm from the dmv so miss with that elitism

There is actually a housing crisis going on because of Chinese investors buying a lot of high price homes here in the US.

Basically people who have wealth in china do not feel comfortable putting their money into Chinese investments. So a lot of new money Chinese are buying up real estate left and right in the US and Canada. A lot of times they don't even live in the home and simply sit their money in the property and hope to sell it for a profit. They even hire people to basically live in the homes so they don't get I trouble with owning an unoccupied home.

Unfortunately this has led to skyrocketing real estate prices all over the country due to Chinese demand. More than likely what you're seeing is the effect of that.

like I said in the OP every home I go to to is Asian owned and worth at the minimum half a million.. I'm thinking its one thing for immigrants to come here and be poor..but I'm seeing an influx of Asians here on the east coast and they all seem to have doe.. But what you wrote makes a lot of sense

There's always been Asians here, but I've definitely noticed an influx of wealthy Asians. When I was doing the seasonal UPS job last Christmas, I could always tell when I was about to deliver to an Asian home; white folks had nice albeit older homes, while the Asians always had a nicely renovated home. There's definitely a shift, and its making white people hella uncomfortable - their old money ain't stretching as far as that Chinese money.

Interesting. My professor mentioned this one or two years ago -- a lot of houses around affluent areas that were sitting vacant because of Chinese investors.

Cause like I said in the op...I do Flex on the weekend so I'm all over..and I've noticed what I mentioned in the OP entire area not just 1 city.

And ain't nobody claiming dc...

I lived all over the DMV so that's why I said DMV...and like o told your ass everyone says DMV....how you going to tell someone on a forum "I'm from Montgomery county" like they know where that is...
